The hotel occupies a historical Venetian-style palace built in 1873. Initially it was constructed as a house for a wife of a State councilor Olimpia Vasilievna Andreevskaya, later the household belonged to a merchant Pavel Petrovich Maldenov, then to to Pavel Grigoryevich Malozemov. Then a retirement home for aged citizens of the St. Petersburg merchant society was placed there.
